Meet Our Team

Catherine Amos

Catherine Amos is a historian based in Asheville, NC. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of North Carolina Asheville, and her research interests lie in family and community history, as well as historical memory in the built environment of public spaces. 

Amos has worked in the field of public history since 2014, with over four years of experience in archives, museums, and historic sites, including Biltmore, the Vance Birthplace State Historic Site, the Department of Historic Preservation and Collections at George Washington’s Mount Vernon, and UNC Asheville’s Center for Diversity Education. Until May of 2023, Amos was the Project Manager for 828 Digital Archives for Historical Equity.  She is now a Library Assistant at Buncombe County Special Collections.
